sickies

Jocelyn and Sugar Mommy have been down with a nasty tummy bug. So far the other Beauties and Daddy have not come down with the sickness. Thank goodness. Because yuck...miserable. Jocelyn sure has been a little trooper the last two days. She even came to me once yesterday and said "puk puk" and then went to the barf bucket. What a little sweetie. After that her and I snuggled on the couch for a while and rested. Seems that as hard as it is to be sick. The cuddle time always makes up for it.

Chloe showing off her silver egg.
She was extremely proud of this one.

Silvie looking sweet with her basket of treasured eggs.

Farrah and Silvie sharing robin eggs.
It was so sweet to watch them sharing
with each other.
Silvie had two eggs and offered one to Farrah.
Then they touched their heads
together as they sampled tiny bites. So sweet.
The Beauties were all about hunting eggs today. They had a blast and could have found hundreds more. We even thought about re-hiding them and letting them seek again. They looked like little pros in the field. Silvie even went to bed tonight with her basket of plastic eggs, there was no way she was going into her bed without them.

The Bunny

Grandma Val brought the girls their Easter baskets a little early. The beauties each got an outfit and some new sandals. The Beauties LOVE new clothes. She also brought one of those Hallmark Holiday dancers. The Bunny. The beauties thought it was the cats meow right away. Especially Jocey. "Mine! Mine! No Mine!" Were the words she used to describe the Bunny. Needless to say...she was not in the slightest bit interested in "sharing" The Bunny.
Grandma came with an arm full of The Bunny last night. Ahh, the smiles. Each Beauty with her very oun singing and dancing Bunny. Peace resumes.

How much is that doggy in the window?

Chloe and I made a trip to Petland tonight. She loves to go there and look at the hamsters. We had to get a new water bottle for Bella's cage. Hers is leaking and I am so afraid she is going to drown in the puddle. After getting the new H2O dispenser, Chloe decided she wanted to check out the puppies. She has been really into doggies ever since seeing the movie Beverly Hills Chihuahua. (It is a cute movie if you haven't seen it.) I agreed and we visited each one through the Plexi-glass windows. Just as we were getting ready to say our goodbyes, she saw another customers go into one of the petting rooms with a puppy. She peered up with those huge baby blues and said, "oh, Mommy, can we hold a puppy?" How could I say no to that? The first one was a Weimariner (sp)...ummm so stinking cute. Matt and I had one before Chloe was born...little Shelby. Sweet doggie, but not so smart. Chloe loved her. She loved Chloe...time to put her back. Then she spotted a Dachshund, she had to play with that one too, because it is a little dog "that could wear clothes." I agreed again. A few minutes turned into twenty and I finally convinced er the doggie probably had to poop and she better go back to her cage. Chloe sadly agreed. She really loves dogs...maybe someday Chloe, but these days Mommy has enough poop to clean up.

2 years and 29 days

The Littlest Beauties had their 2 year well check this afternoon. A bit late because for whatever reason our clinic has a difficult time scheduling them all three together with our Pediatrician. Not completely sure why but oh well.
The beauties are growing like crazy! Way ahead developmentally! They are 3 healthy little toddlers! Dr. M. was so impressed with their vocabulary. She said they speak so clearly and have such a range of words. She also commented on the way they communicate between themselves. Like a secret little language. They climbed all over everything and drew pictures with chalk. They also had a lead screening today. Finger pokes are no fun...mommy knows this from her pregnancies...but they took it like troopers. They had a great time showing off their matching bandaids, and telling people "ouch" while pointing to their fingers. They were up to date on all vaccines, so no shots today! Yeah!
Here are the growth stats:

Jocelyn weighs in at 25lbs and is 34.96 inches
Farrah weighs in at 22lbs 2oz and is 34.06 inches
Silvie weighs in at 23lbs 6oz and is 34.65 inches
They are all three on the growth chart! Woo hoo! Finally.
I have to say I think we are growing these triplets pretty darn well...Amazing they started so tiny and fragile. Today they are happy, healthy toddlers.

Put some on my cheeks

Silvie, Farrah and Jocelyn have an obsession with butt cream. Desitin, A & D, Aquaphylic, whatever, they are not particular. They love to rub it on themselves, they love to rub it on each other, and my personal favorite...sometimes they like to taste test it. After bath time we always lube up with lotion all over their baby bods. We always finish with moisturizing the tushies. (I am glad that all four of the beauties share my love of lotion.) Usually one of the three gets a hold of the butt cream and hides with it. Last night...it was Silvie. At least her cheeks will not be
chapped...

Egg x thirty

Thirty eggs sure seems like a lot when they are boiling away in the pot. Thirty eggs sure seems like a lot when you say the number aloud. Thirty eggs sure did not seem to satisfy Chloe's need to color eggs last night. She wanted to color thirty more, maybe sixty more would not have been enough. She had a blast. I started out with the plan to have the Littlest Beauties help too. As the afternoon went on, without a nap...I nixed that plan. They were in no mood and neither was I. Does that sound bad? Anyway, Chloe was very excited not to have to share this activity with her baby sisters. She did such a great job. We have some very beautiful eggs. Most of them were dipped at least three or four times. She said she didn't want any boring eggs. They all had to be just beautiful. They will make for some very de-lish deviled eggs for this weekend. If I can get Chloe to allow me to crack her artwork.

Naps are my friend

We seem to be having a very difficult time the last month or so with nap time around here. I wish I could communicate with the Beauties that they should relish in their daily nap while they can, however, I would be wasting my breath. Obviously. I just do not understand. I would take a nap, or maybe even two naps everyday if I could. Not to mention, Mommy really needs the down time during their nap. Time to catch up on everything else. I also really enjoy having that one on one time with Chloe. In the last three weeks I think they have taken maybe four really good naps. About six forty-five minutes or less. The rest of the days within that time period...napless. Those of you who have toddlers know...no nap=crabby kiddos.
So what s a girl to do? They play in their cribs. They giggle. They throw their loveys and blankets on the floor. They chatter. They have started taking the clothes off (my favorite), they take their diapers off too occasionally. Sometimes they fuss. I go in and check them about every twenty minutes or so. Always keeping them in their room for at least hour if they do not go to sleep. Then the night time routine is crazy. They all want to be held all night. They fight more, bite more, usually do not eat as well...because they are tired.
How can I get them to take their nap? I truly do not feel they are ready to forgo the nap yet, and neither am I.

Round Up

It was Kindergarten Round Up today at Chloe's Elementary School. Or should I say, the school we are trying to transfer her into. We actually live in a different district, however due to many different factors, we wish to transfer to another school. Yes, it is a little farther. Yes, we will have to drive her there and pick her up. But...she is worth it. The school district we live in has good teachers, it is within walking distance from our home, it is a nice school, a newer one really. It has a brand new park. On the other side, after much research both with parents and teachers currently at the school, not to mention with Matt being a Police Officer in the area...we have learned their are a lot of behavioral issues, parents that do not care about education, respect, etc. There have been numerous fights in the school this year, some even as young as first and second graders. The teachers and staff are so preoccupied with some of these issues...a lot of children fall through the cracks. Most of those children seems to be the middle class children whose parents value education and being involved in their children's lives. We have many, many of these kids living right near us. Examples of some of the things we have witnessed...a fifth grade girl got attacked in our neighbors yard last summer, by a group of sixth grade kids. There is tons of vandalism, and property damage in our neighborhood. There have been several arrests in the neighborhood for drugs and selling. Some of which were parents of kids in our neighborhood. Kids will walk along the sidewalks and throw trash in yards. They have zero respect for anyone or anything. They shout obscenities at our retired neighbors. Where are their parents? Who knows...I know that it is not the fault of the children. I feel bad for them and wish there was more that I could do to help. I am scared of our neighborhood. I do understand there are aways eggs among children and teens and adults. My children are not perfect angels, however, I do make every attempt to teach them respect, value and morals. Also to take care of people and things around them. I want more for my daughters. I want them to have every possible chance to succeed. I want the to grow up to be good people.
Back to round up...it was so much fun to meet her teachers, to meet other parents whose children are also beginning school. It was so neat to see her in the school environment, interacting with other kids and her teacher. We learned a lot, and she did too. She was able to go to the library with the other kids and her teacher. They read a book, drew a picture and had a snack. What will I do in the fall when she is gone all day? I am trying to begin to prepare myself already. Matt said I will cry, ahh he knows me so well, doesn't he?

Not an April Fool

I think it is funny that my five year old beauty understands the concept of April Fool's Day.
She told her Daddy tonight that Mommy is pregnant.
She had it all planned out. She sat down on his lap, was very serious, and said, "Daddy, you wanna know something? Mommy has had a really bad headache. I'm supposed to not tell you. Mommy's pregnant."
Of course Matt, knowing this is next to impossible, responds with, "oh really?"
Chloe gets a devilish grin and shouts "April Fools!"
Matt and I both grinned from ear to ear. Our little Chloe, such a smarty.
For the Grammies reading this...it's a joke...a joke...Sugar Mommy is not pregnant...

Good to be an American Girl

Can you tell she is excited?

Posing with their new bags.

Chloe and Molli getting ready for the show

Chloe and her doll Clara

Chloe attended her very first fashion show this past weekend. The American Girl Company and the Iowa Children's Museum put on a fashion show for little girls and their dollies. It was so much fun. Chloe and I went with Gramma Pam and Mollimarie. It was two hours of fashion, new styles and old. Chloe was so excited to see the little girls walking the run way with their dolls. They went through the history of each American Girl doll. All about the time in history she represents. Chloe keeps telling me all about the different things she learned about each doll. Her favorites are Kiya, the American Indian doll, Kit, from the 1950's (I think) and Julie, from the 1970's. She picked out a new wardrobe for Clara and especially wants the roller skate outfit. Of course Clara wants to be a Derby girl too! Chloe and Molli also learned about good table manners, how to take tea, and about also about making everyone feel welcome and special. They stressed the importance friendship and talked about making others feel welcome and involved. It was a big success. I really like the American Girl Company and how they strive towards empowering little girls, teaching them values that will help them to become empowered young women. The dolls are beautiful too. A bit expensive, but beautiful nonetheless.

Milk Painting

The Little Beauties have a new favorite hobby...milk painting...you read correctly. They paint things with their fingers and their milk. Yucky. I began noticing there were more streaks than normal in all of the glass. Especially the front window and the sliding back door, oh and the TV screens. Hmmm. Little fingers leave lots of prints at our house. But these somehow seemed a it different. I continued to clean the glass every few days. Yesterday, I realized what was making this extraordinary artwork. Milk painting...they take a drink from their sippy cups and then walk to the window, liquid in check, and spit it on the glass, then they rub it into beautiful shapes and designs. Can I say, "where did they learn this? Not to mention GROSS." Although I think it is nasty, the Beauties find it super comical. They laugh and giggle so hard it almost makes it cute. Almost.

I cannot imagine being faced with what this family is going through. There are so many unknowns with his condition at this time. All we know is tat God has his handon Baby Stellan. Keep them close to your hearts.

Sand, Pinecones and Stray Cats

Sand...not tasting it today...always a good start.

Our "treasures" we found on our walk today. I giggle every time the Beauties say "pine cones" There are only three because Chloe is at Grammy and Papa's today. It just isn't the same without her here, especially when we go on treasure hunt walks. She always finds the best "treasures."
Farrah in the rock bed.

Silvie just being cute.

We have a rock bed around our house in the back. The fascination began with Chloe. She loved the rocks in in. Every time we played outside she would pick a special one from the bed and put it in the flower bed. She still does it. The littlest Beauties have also taken a liking to the rock bed. They love exploring all of the different types of rocks. They haven't even started throwing them yet...I said yet.
Climbing up the hill looking for treasures to put in their buckets. They should be all ready to hunt Easter eggs next month.

This is the "evil" stray kitty that runs around our house. Scary isn't he? I don't think he is really a stray, as he seems well fed, he is clean, he is friendly and he is wearing a collar. He likes to hangout with Scooby. I think they "tear" up the neighborhood at night prowling together. The Beauties have seen him before, from the inside, looking out. They always say "kitty, kitty" and make a big deal about him. Today while on the robin/treasure hunt (you can read about the robin hunt at Adventures of Sugar Mommy) they noticed the "evil" kitty in the neighbors yard. They watched it for a minute, made sure that I knew that the kitty was there and then went back to "bird watching". A few moments later the kitty decided the grass looked greener on our side of the fence...holy terror broke loose! The Beauties scattered screaming in ever living panic! Tears...Screams...The neighbors came to fence to see if they were okay...I chased the "evil" kitty out of the yard and the terror subsided. With tear streaked cheek's, all three chimed in "kitty bite, kitty bite, kitty bite, kitty bite!" I assured them the kitty would not bite them, that he didn't look hungry, however I am not sure they believed me. They kept one eye on the fence line to be sure that "evil" kitty did not return to our yard.

Here they are looking at the "evil" kitty before it jumped the fence.

Farrah making sandcakes

The Little Beauties and their Sugar Mommy love being outside. We are so happy to say Spring in officially her and we missed her.
