We buried our beloved Stuart on Monday morning.
It was truly a heartbreaking morning, especially for Silvie.
It was business as usual. Silvie goes to the Stu and Bennie's cage every morning to tell them hello. This time was different. She brought Stuart to me with tear filled eyes. "Mommy, Stuart won't wake up." Immediate lump to my throat. She cried and cried and cried. Chloe cried and cried and cried. As a Mommy, it was so difficult to try to explain why Stuart was "sleeping."
We had a little "hamster service" and buried him.
A sad day.

Welcome Home
I know, I know...I'm either a really cool mom or a crazy one.
We have four new additions to our home...
Introducing "Faith Polka Dot" (black with white spots) "Lady Gaga" (all black) "Ed" (tan) and "Stuart the 2nd." (brown). The Beauties were able to hand pick which one they each wanted. There were six females in the litter. So they are integrated together since birth.
They are full of energy. They also love to cuddle together in their leopard print hammock. Four baby gerbil sisters. Cute as can be. (Unless you ask Gma Val, she will argue that.)
The Beauties are in love, they will just sit beside the cage and watch them. They are under strict orders NOT to open the cage unless Mommy is with them. The new "babies" are fast. Not to mention, Daisy and Scooby think they look pretty tasty.
The pet store told us that gerbils are much more social and at being hand tamed and handled than hamsters...so let's give it a shot. Welcome home girls.
Also just so you know...Matt was the one that said, "please buy four. Not one or two, four., so they don't fight over them. Good idea Daddy.

Molli is 10!
Grammy and her girls. I was trying to get Grammy to smile for the camera...I caught her mid-tongue-stick-out. Sorry Gram, too cute not to share!
Molli the birthday girl! Sorry this post has taken me so super long Molli!
We had a GREAT time at your party! Lots of skating, laughing and fun! So hard to swallow that you are 10 years old. Where does the time go?
Hope your birthday was wonderful. Just like you babe.
Skater Beauties. They are getting pretty good on their skates (especially Farrah).
Papa...where are your skates?
Don't just stand there, let's get to it, strike a pose there's nothing to it...vogue vogue vogue...
Vogue vogue vogue.
Don't smile...don't smile...don't you smile.
It seems that my Beauties are always dancing to a beat...even when there is no music playing. Farrah just started busting a move while helping Silvie pick "pretty flowers" or as some may call them...Dandelions.
Silvie is my little flower child
Daddy and his Beauties watching some men fishing. The men were really good sports. They turned and chatted with us. They were as amazed with the Beauties as the Beauties were with their fish. Daddy was doing a very good job trying to explain why we have to be quiet and calm and not throw rocks into the water when people are trying to catch fish. The talk worked and they were quiet for all of about 3 minutes.
Not only were we fortunate enough to encounter one snake, but we were lucky enough to come across a second. Oh goody!
The first one I almost stepped on while trying to snap some shots of Matt with the Beauties. If you were wondering, yep, I screamed. The second was in a tree along the trail. There were some boys walking n the trail in front of us and spotted it. As we approached they moved on, but we knew they had been looking at something in the tree. When we reached the tree...a snake. Cool . Yuck.

Spring has sprung
Warm weather is officially here.
The Beauties and Mommy were more than willing to welcome it with open arms.
Matt and I have a lot of history in Kent Park. The Beauties voted it an A+ too. We packed a picnic and took in the beautiful scene around us. No cares in the world...well, except for bugs. The Beauties do NOT like bugs. I agree with them. Bugs are icky. That being said, it is very difficult to play and enjoy the great outdoors without having a run in or two or six with some type of creepy crawler.
