"Toadies" in the pool

With the grass freshly mowed this morning...yes it was still wet...we decided to brave the heat by filling up the baby pool. Within two minutes it was full of grass clippings...no matter...the Little Beauties didn't mind the grass much. They splashed and played and most of all giggled. We dumped the water and refilled it with clean water maybe we will head back out after our nappy.
Chloe, my Tomboy, found two toads jumping in the grass. She caught the big fat one and he even took a dip in the pool. The baby one was a bit too fast for her and for Mommy. The littlest Beauties do not share her love of toads. In fact the words they use to describe them "no toadie, no icky." Maybe one of them will be a girlie girl...maybe three? Can I be so lucky?

Toadie my love

Chloe is showing more and more that she may in fact be the "Tom-Boy" of the Little Beauties. Matty and I go around and around about this issue. I have said since the day she was born that she would be a girlie girl all the way...but it looks like Daddy may be right. Chloe found little toadie in the backyard yesterday. She not only found him...she caught him all on her own. She chased him, and caught him in a sand bucket. Oh how she fell in love with this little hopping creature. She gave it a rock, and some grass, and called it his new home. I will also add, the triplets, scared to death of dear toadie. Chloe played with him for quite some time. Letting him hop around and then re-catching him. She even called him her new best buddy. So sweet. After she introduced him to Grammy Pam, Mommy tried to explain that we would need to let him go back free in the yard. I tried to explain...lightly...that he could not be an indoor pet. That he would be so much happier outside, hopping and eating buglys. Chloe was devastated by this. She wanted so much to keep him, indoors. After much coaxing, she released him, and cried for toadie for an hour after. Saying "I'll never ever ever see him again." Poor sweetie. She really loved that toadie. Hopefully we will run across his path again.

Our Little "Chuck Adams"

Don't feel bad...I didn't know who that was either until this evening. Just to clarify he is "the only person who has harvested every North American big game species with a bow". My dear hubby is trying to turn our firstborn daughter into a "tomboy". At first I thought it was kind of cute. However recently he has been pressing it more and more. He even bought her a bow and (suction cup) arrows today. As I type, they are in the back yard shooting at the target. She is actually a fairly good shot too. She is so excited about it. She wants to go "shoot" animals with Daddy. He is so proud. He just grins from ear to ear. I keep telling him that once she realizes what hunting really is...she will cry and never ever want to do it. However, today she said, "Mommy, I want to shoot Bambi." I know...disturbing isn't it? I was actually pleading tonight, "Not my Chloe. Not my princess, not my Barbie girl, not the dress-up queen, make-up loving, my favorite color is pink, long haired, headband wearing, high maintenance, dancing, singing, baby doll loving, sweet little girl. She is mine. I'm worried.
