Wordless Wednesday

Benny and Stuart

Last Monday was a difficult day with a happy ending. Chloe came home from school. Happy as usual of course. As she walked into the kitchen, she noticed immediately that the hamster cage was not there. "Where's Jasmin?" Earlier that day...I realized I had not seen Jazmin in the wheel as I always do at various time throughout the day. When I opened the cage, a wave of a horribly distinct smell came out. Jasmin had passed. Matt and I decided to bury her. We discussed for some time what to do. We finally agreed that it may be more traumatising for Chloe to see her hamster dead. So we buried her. Thinking we would have a little prayer service that evening. Wrong. Chloe wanted to see her dead hamster and tell her goodbye. Great we are terrible parents. She wanted to dig her up. After some time, I convinced her that we should not dig her up. During this convincing, I some how agreed to get her a new hamster. Man she knows how to play on Mommy's soft side. Mood improved 90 percent. As we entered the pet store, mood upgrade to 100 percent normal. As we picked up and met some of the different hamsters, some how I ended up agreeing to two. Hmmm. How did that happen? She was tickled pink. Benny and Stuart she would name them. Welcome home Benny and Stuart. May you live long and happy lives.

"Little Punkins" at the Pumpkin Patch

We made our annual trip to the patch on Sunday. What a great way to spend my birthday. Out in the fall air with my hubby and our beauties! The girls were very excited to find their pumpkins and pick apples. Although they still were feeling pretty crummy...yes I am one of those that probably should stay home and not spread germs, but the fresh air always seems to to everyone good. In my defense, we were outside, not in any type of confined space.
Honey Acres still had plenty of apples to pick (and eat) and we ate plenty. I think by the end, we may have eaten more than we brought home. The triplets were even double fisting them. Chloe had a blast using the apple picker. She was a pro this year.

Happy Birthday breakfast for Mommy

Happy Birthday to Mommy.
Chloe woke with lots of hugs and kisses for Mommy on Sunday morning. So sweet. Followed by..."Mommy, do you want birthday donuts for breakfast today?" Who could resist that? Not me. I said of course (even though...I hate donuts.) The Beauties were in full sugar high and loving the junk food for breakfast morning to celebrate Mommy's day. Matt even brought me a Java House coffee...to counter act the crispy creams. Mmmmm Java House. It was a fabulous birthday breakfast with my Beauties and my man.

Sick days and polished nails

I have to admit...there are a few fun things about sick days...
Snuggles for one.
Hugs for two.
Not to mention number three...pretty polished fingers and tootsies.
We started a new tradition...polishing the nails while we snuggle up to the Pingo movie.
Such fun. Although...I hope this nasty flu bug leaves our home soon. We are sick of being sick.

I am the coolset Mommy ever

Before we decided to go for some fresh-air therapy.

Seems like the fresh air therapy is working wonders.

I think she looks beautiful...but sick...not so much.

Playing in the leaves makes any cold symptom better.

We even chased "evil kitty" for a bit.

Miss Chloe has been home from school the last two days. She has a sore throat and a cough that makes her sound like a momma seal. She has been running a fever on and off since Saturday, which is the main reason for her absence from school. They advise to keep kids home until they have been fever free for more than 2 hours. She probably could have gone. However, I am not going to be "that Mom" the one who sends her kid to school sick, infecting all the other kids with their icky germs. So...she stayed home.
I will also add, that when I was a kid, staying home meant that you laid on the couch or in bed and that you acted...well...sick. If you were well enough to run around...you were well enough to go to school.
That being said...the beauties have been stir crazy. So have I. A bad case of the "cabin-fevers." Due to the unseasonably warm weather, it has been in the seventies the last two days, we escaped to the yard yesterday...
shhh. Don't tell.

Day 5

It's day number five of Daddy's vacation.
He is in snowy Colorado. In the mountains. Hunting Elk. Sleeping in a tent. No running water. No electricity. Sleeping bag. Campfire cooked meals. Pooping outside in a hole and covering it up. Gross. I DO NOT call that a vacation.
The Beauties and I are doing okay. We miss you lots Daddy! Hope you are having a great time.

Happy Birthday Uncle Chaddy

Happy Birthday to YOU
Happy Birthday to YOU
Happy Birthday Uncle Chaddy
Happy Birthday to YOU!

Better a day late...I am not keeping up very well these days!
It was great to chat yesterday! The Beauties had a great time singing to your voicemail.
Go Dale Jr!

Happy Birthday "little" brother!
We love you!

Cake making...and party time with Poppy

This is the cake when it was finished. There is a lot of love in this cake Poppy. Your grandbeauties worked very hard making it and then decorating...oh yeah and trying to eat it.

Rice Crispy treats. This was the first time I have ever made them...and probably the last as well. What a mess! No one told me to grease up my hands before touching them.

Homecoming parade

We did the annual Homecoming parade Friday night. It was a brisk fall evening downtown. My kind of night. The Beauties were bundled and cozy and as always had a great time watching. Chloe was a bit sad though. Her bestie Olivia was sick with a fever and was unable to make it this year. We missed you gals!
