Take us to the Fair...part 2

Mommy and the Beauties headed to the fair with cousin Molli and Grammy again last evening. It was the last day, so we decided we had so much fun Tuesday, we wanted to go again. Papa got ride armbands for the girls. They rode some rides. Ate some chicken and noodles and of course more ice cream. Ah...we love ice cream at the fair. We paid another visit to the animals. Cows, duckies and sheep. The girls loved the sheep and cows. Everyone agreed the ducks smelled the worst. Molli, Chloe, Farrah and Silvie even touched a SNAKE! Jocelyn wanted no part of the scary looking reptile! She did not like it at all. Grammy said that the four that did partake in the snake petting must not truly be her Grandbabies. Yucky.
We didn't make the fireworks...just too late for the beauties. They were ready to go about an hour before they were set to begin. Maybe next year.
We love the fair!

We love the Fair

The Beauties had a fun filled day at the county fair today. Of course the favorite of the day was the animals barns and the ice cream (of course). They loved the cows and the sheep. Farrah wanted to take the "piggys" home for some piggy soup, however, I talked her out if it. We did take a picture of two "piggys" "spooning" it is Farrah's favorite. We also saw peacocks and bunnies, horses and goats. Jocelyn learned that she shouldn't put her fingers inside the chicken pens...she got pecked. She laughed. I guess it tickled. They also visited with the peacocks, donkeys and ducks. Chloe, Farrah and Jocelyn got to ride a ride. Farrah and Jocelyn picked the choo-choo and Chloe rode on the swings with cousin Haley and her friend Sammy. Silvie wasn't riding today. We walked through the halls and collected "junk". We even saw cousin Molli! She was there with her summer camp. The beauties were very excited to see her! They are already looking forward to going back on Thursday night! Chloe said she is riding all the rides!

We didn't see the Butter Cow

We spent the day at the State Fair yesterday. We had a great time being together, however, we did learn the girls are not quite ready to take the trip we planned to Chicago next month. Or maybe it would be better described as Mommy and Daddy are not ready for that! Maybe we will go somewhere alone. Haha. We departed from home about 10:30. Packed and ready to conquer the day! We only stopped twice on the way there. Pretty good for a 2 hour drive with 4 kids. When we arrived a very nice gentleman gave us 2 tickets on his way out. Nice $20.00 savings for us! We walked towards the games and rides, a "carnie" stopped me and handed me a dart. Here was his line: "Are those triplets? We have to win something for them." He hands me a dart, I miss, hands me another I make it. "For $5.00 I will give you 4 prizes, even if you miss." I thought, it's been a long time since I played darts, why not, I know I'll miss. Well, I hit all 3! Yeah me! The girls were awarded a plush rose. ooh aah! We walked on and Chloe spotted the rides and so we checked those out. Wow! They made a killing on the price to ride them! Chloe finally decided on the boats. Basically they are rafts with steering wheels and they spin in circles. For $4.00 she was able to ride for five minutes. Money well spent. After that Chloe and I rode on the sky glider. You know the one that takes you across the grounds in a ski lift type contraption. She loved that too. Again money well spent. We checked out the DNR building. We visited Fun Forest. Chloe made a fan and tossed some beanbags and have a balloon made into a fish and fishing pole. After that we ventured to "Perry's Exotic Petting Zoo". All 4 of the girls agreed this was their favorite part of the day! Chloe had a pony ride, more money well spent. Then we fed some animals. Goats, Llamas, a Zebra, an African Cow, Camels and Mommy's favorite, Kangaroos! Jocelyn loved the goats...she wasn't afraid of them like the last time. She even pet them! Silvie and Farrah just sat back and took it all in. They seemed to like the entire experience. We decided to attempt dinner time. Which was kind of when things went from great to a bit ugly. They all wanted down...They ate a little and when we tried to put Jocelyn back into the stroller, yeah, she wasn't having it. She spent the rest of the fair in the hip carrier, attached to Mommy. Chloe wanted one last ride on the ski glider. She Jocelyn was able to ride too, since she was attached to Mommy. When we were grounded we decided it was time to load em up. All in all it was good day. I did tell 3 different women on 3 different occasions "it's not nice to point". As they pointed at us from me to the computer screen away. We met 4 different triplet families. All whose kids were much older 4-16. They said oh, how they remembered when. Also adding that we were brave. None had ever taken their triplets anywhere when they were little. That made us feel good, or maybe nuts. I'm sure we will go again next year. Maybe make it tradition. I must say I am a bit disappointed that we ate nothing deep fried (which is good when I really think about it) and I didn't get to see the "butter cow". That's the goal for next year!

Little Beauties at the fair

We made a couple trips to the fair this week. Tuesday is "kids day" so we went to see what all the fun was about. We visited the exhibit hall, collected lots of "junk". Chloe and Haley rode on the swings and played a few games. Haley got a tattoo and Chloe had to be rescued by a "carnie" at the top of the big slide. She would NOT slide down! She was so scared, poor thing! They wouldn't let me go up after her. So the "carnie" went up to help her slide down. Not sure how I felt about that really. Personally I would have rather slide down and be a bit frightened then slide down with a "carnie". Ice cream afterwards made everything all better and we went to visit all the animals. Chloe "milked" a cow, she wasn't sure she liked it. Can't blame her I am a city girl too. Leave the "farm work" to the farmers I say. One of the calves got a bit too close to Jocelyn, which she made sure she let everyone know that she did not like...be screaming as loud as she could. We saw sheep, and cows and some rabbits. Chloe said her favorite part of the fair was the giant swing ride. She went on it 4 times! Once with Haley and she suckered Papa Steve into it 3 times. Papa loved it! Farrah's favorite part was picking a duckie for a prize, Jocelyn likes the bunnies the best, and Silvie just liked it all...except when strangers came up and tried to touch her...she really doesn't like that! We saw some old friends and even got tattooed! All in all, the fair was good. Maybe next year we will attempt the State Fair...or maybe not.

Washington County Fair

The girls were in a Triplet/Twins contest tonight at the Washington County Fair. There were over 50 sets of twins! Ages 2 months to 69 years. There were 7 sets of triplets. Ages 16 months to 19 years. They judges on several different categories, youngest/oldest, tallest/shortest, minutes apart at birth, looked most/least alike. I know they were the most adorable/cutest set there. But they didn't judge that. Hee hee. The girls were the youngest set of triplets! The were awarded $15.00 and a blue ribbon! It was fun! We met a couple other sets of triplets that live sort of close to us. There were even 2 sets of twin calves in the contest. Cute.
The girls had the most fun looking at all the animals after the contest. They LOVE animals. Silvie said MOO tonight! They were fascinated with the roosters and the sheep! They cannot wait until the Johnson County Fair next week, maybe we will see you there.
