1st Day Beauties

Can you even believe that this little sweetie is in 3rd grade?
Where has the time gone?
It seems just yesterday I walked her to her first day of Kindergarten.
Two of Chloe's buddies, Ava and Piper.
All in the same class this year.  They were so excited to see each other.
 Kindergarten.
Can you even believe the triplets are old enough for Kindergarten?
Kindergarten?  Really?  Already?
How did that happen?
They posed pretty for the first day photo.
Chloe began the week before the triplets, so she had the routine down and was ready to show her sisters how things are done.
Everyone posed by the tree on the first day, even though everyone thinks it is cheesy, they still humor mommy.  I hope they will always humor me like that when the camera is involved.  Even when daddy is making fun of me in the background.
These moments only come once.  I will not miss them.

Here are the triplets as the rounded the hallway.  They remembered exactly where their classroom was.  They practically ran there.
Chloe showing off her first day art...
Her favorite things about summer.
Fishing on Lake MacBride, softball and the pool.

Happy First Day Beauties

Summer went by so quickly.
Too quickly really.
We had lots of fun this summer, but today it was back to routine.  Back to books.  Back to schedules.
New schedules, for everyone.
My Baby Girl is a Second Grader!
I cannot even believe that it seems just yesterday I was bringing her home from the hospital, so small.  She is so grown up.  So independent.  Such a little lady now.  She loves her teacher!  Her friends.  She loves going to school.  She loves learning, loves being social.  I love that she loves it.  Where did my baby go?
Her first week duty assignment in class is the mail carrier.  She gets to deliver mail to her classmates mailboxes, and is VERY excited about this.
She was so excited for her little sisters' first day of preschool today.  She took them under her wing and helped prepare them for what to expect.  Instructing them on how to listen to their teacher.  What to do in certain situations.  It was so sweet.  I know in my heart she was thinking of them all day today.
Jocelyn sprung out of bed this morning.  More excitement on her face than I have ever seen.  She couldn't wait to begin the day.  She knew exactly what to do, as if she had done it 100 times, even though it was her first.  She was calm and ready and even smiled brightly for mommy's camera (which she never does willingly.)  Her Favorite part of the day today was craft time.  She was a little sad becasue she said she didn't get to do a "special job" but hopefully she will get one tomorrow.
Farrah was super excited too, although a bit more quiet with her excitement.  She was the first to get into her first day outfit of course, because her shirt had elephants on it.  She was anxious to show off her favorite animal to all her classmates and teacher.  She posed pretty and couldn't wait to get there.  Her "special job" for the day was to use her "big muscles" being the door holder.
Silvie was the most excited to go this morning.  She ran around the house this morning like a crazy girl!  She was ready before everyone.  When we arrived at school, she found the cubbies with all three of their names on them and pointed them out to Farrah and Jocey.  She also was the first to sign in.  Her "special job" was to be the line caboose and she said she was good at it.  She also reassured Jocelyn that she would have a job "next time."
As I stood and observed for several minutes, watching them interact and become familiar with their surroundings, trying not to break into tears, Silvie walked up to me and said, "Mommy, I thought you were going to leave?"  I smiled.  I hugged her.  I wiped the tear from my eye and I said, "I am sweetie."  I kissed them all again, and I left...I left me babies on their very first day of preschool.
Two hours later, I picked them up, Daddy went too.  They had a wonderful morning.  They greeted us with smiles from ear to ear, and drawings and stories of all that they had spent their morning doing.
A few hours later, we went to pick up Chloe.  Where she greeted us with a smile from ear to ear.  Skipping down the sidewalk.  Happy as a lark.  "I love second grade!"
It's going to be a great year!
 On that note...
Mommy begins her classes on Monday morning...I hope I am smiling and skipping out of class too.

First Grade First Day

Summer is over.  School in session.  It's been a week back at the grind and we are all still adjusting.  Chloe is LOVING school.  (Not that there were any doubts.)
The morning routine, knock on wood, is going so well.  We have been without the clothing battles of last year.  Which is good, because I had my fill of them last year.
Chloe's teacher is on maternity leave through November, so she has a long term substitute.  She really like her and I am happy that she is happy.
Here's to a happy school year!

T minus one week

The school year is ALMOST here.  I'm not sure who is more excited?  Well actually I can tell you who...Chloe.  She is so "bored" and ready to go back to school.  The last several weeks of summer have been more than boring for her.  Mommy down with a blown knee.  Sisters that are into her business "all of the time."  Nothing to do.  The first day back is the 19th, and she wishes that the 19th was tomorrow.
She has her school supplies packed and ready to go.  Her first day outfits selected and already set out.  Ice cream social next Tuesday.  She asks everyday who her teacher will be?  Who will be in her class?  And my personal favorite...Is tomorrow the first day yet?

good morning

My first born beauty.
Chloe.  You are only six.  Beauty is not what your clothing looks like.  It is what you hold inside.  Appearance does not define you.
You look cute, sweet, sassy, adorable, nice, fine, great, in style, cool, chic, awesome, pretty, comfy or what ever adjective you would like me to describe how you look in your outfit for school today.  Every night, we spend a minimum of 30 minutes (which is 29 minutes longer than I spend getting dressed) selecting your outfit for school the following morning.  You go to bed satisfied and confident that your outfit of choice is "perfect" for the day ahead.  You sleep.  You wake.  You piddle.  You have to be told to brush your teeth forty-seven times.  You eat and brush your hair.  As the time draws closer to donning the outfit, you begin to act nervous about how the weather will tun out.  Will you be hot/cold, not comfy?  You enter your department store (room) and begin to throw clothing everywhere.  Then the melt down begins.  10 minutes go by.  Still melting.  I come in and make 9 different outfit suggestions.  I leave the department store (room) frustrated that we are doing this yet again today.  I leave you to pout and melt.  I come back in 5 minutes, yep, still melting.  Time check...8:00.  Daddy will be here to take you to school.  You must be ready to walk out the door in 15 minutes or you will be late...again.  8:10...Daddy enters room.  Offers craziest outfit combo I have ever seen.  Nope, you are not biting.  Daddy offers 6 more suggestions, still melting.  8:25...Daddy says "Fine, you will just stay home from school today."  You scramble to find anything to put on, because you will not miss school.  Daddy saying too late, you are staying home.  Mommy trying to peel triplets off, so she can get ready for work.  I tell you to put something on, anything.  You will be late for school, and yes, we will be late enough to require us to sign in at the office.  Daddy tells you to thank Mommy, because if he would have made the last call, you would not be going.  We arrive at school at 9:07.  You are 37 minutes late.
I kiss you goodbye.
Cannot wait to do it all over tomorrow.

Don't forget your smile

Chloe had her very first music concert at school Thursday.
She was so very excited to show off all that she had been learning in music class so far this year.  It was K-4th grade.  Each grade singing their own three song montage.  Super cute of course.  There are three Kindergarten classes at Chloe's school.  They are performed together.  My favorite of the three songs they sang, "Eat your Veggies."  The words went a little something like I eat my veggies everyday...YUM!  Hmmmmm I have never seen Chloe eat her veggies everyday.  YUM?  I had fun after the program teasing her a little bit about her excitement during that song.
BTW...her little "boyfriend" (since the very first day of school, still going strong) Aiden is the cutie in the tie.

Winter Break

.

Today marked the last day of school in 2009. Winter Break. I loved Winter Break. My sweet Chloe does NOT share that love with me. After school yesterday, we were talking about Christmas and how today was going to be the last day until after New Years. During said conversation, she says "How long am I not going to be at school?" I told her that she goes back on January 4th. She then burst into tears. She was so upset that she was not going to be back to school for "so many" days. She continues crying saying that she will miss her teacher so much. It make my heart hurt. On one hand, I am so glad that she loves school so much, and her teacher is wonderful. But on the other hand, it makes me a little teary that she is not at all excited about being at home for a few weeks with Mommy and her Sissys.

Her Holiday Party was at 2 bells today. I signed up to be a helper. It was so much fun to be there and watch her in action. Learning, listening, interacting. The kids in her class love her. They had snacks, played a letter/sounds game and danced to some "Animal Action." It was also "Pajama Day." It was so entertaining to watch all the kids run around in their jammies dancing and singing. I wish I could hang out as a fly on the wall and watch her all the time.
When the bell rang, she all of the sudden was very quiet. I knelt down and asked her if she was okay...and she burst into tears again. So upset that she would not be at school for "so long." Miss C. came over and gave her a BIG hug and told her not to be sad. She said Winter Break was gonna be so much fun. She was good with that, for now. I also promised her we would try to go sledding everyday. I am mentally preparing for that part of break.

Bad Blogger...updates on the Beauties

Yep that's me. A bad blogger. Sorry Grammy Pam. Sorry Auntie Molly. And sorry to anyone else who really reads me. We are keeping busy as usual. I am tired as usual. The Beauties are cute as usual...of course.
What's been happening? We are back in the land of the gated community.
Our gate between the kitchen and living room area broke several months ago. Too much traffic, or maybe too much climbing over it...but it broke. After the last week, I decided that I am just not ready to be without it. Yes the Beauties are 5 1/2 and 2 1/2. Yes they are getting to the age that they are old enough to understand "stay out of the kitchen!" However just because they understand does not mean they follow orders.
The last straw was when I got out of my luxurious 2 minute and 30 second shower (ahhhh refreshing...not) to find my three toddling beauties had moved their potty chairs into the kitchen and climbed their cute little tooshies right onto of the counter. One playing with the stove, one standing trying to get goodies from the cupboard and one chugging my freshly opened diet coke, saying while caught red handed "I like the pop."
NO MORE! I broke down and buy a second hundred and ten doller gate. Agh. The price is simply nuts. But we HAD to have it. Papa came to help install it last night. Thanks Poppy! Much to mu horror, if they try hard enough, they can get it open. Gonna have to "Sugyver" you know "Sugar Mommy and McGyver (sp?)" it. Still working on that part.
Moving on...
The littlest Beauties are POTTY TRAINED!!!! Yeah! I did it! They are doing great! Wearing panties from wake up until bedtime. A few accidents here and there but that's how it goes. Farrah is the nudist in the house. She hates clothes, especially panties. She prefers to go commando. Whatever works I say. We thought we would save so much a month giving up those diapers...although I will say the water bill has increased....A LOT...we like to flush and wash, and then go again, just enough to flush and wash again. In time we will be saving...I hope.
Finally...
I had my first parent/teacher conference today with Ms. C. It was fantastic. Chloe is a star! Sorry, was I bragging? Oh well...I can brag about her, I am her Mommy. Ms. C. had great things to say about her. She is ahead of average on her reading skills, writing skills and she follows directions ALWAYS. She is a leader and a caretaker of her peers. She helps them and guides them and is loved by all of her classmates. I am so PROUD of her. I saw work from her first few weeks compared to the late week and it is amazing! She is really excelling and loving school!
I promise to be better at updates and pics...after all we have a long winter ahead of us.

Kindergarten Fieldtrip

Chloe had her very first fieldtrip last Tuesday. The Kindergarten classes (3 of them) visited a local working farm. There were pumpkins, animals, corn mazes and most of all MUD. Seriously I don't think I have ever seen so much mud. The kids, teachers and parent helpers were covered in the icky brown substance. There was so much mud, the bus driver got the bus stuck in the muddy field and they had to call another bus to pick us up and have the stuck bus pulled out with a tow truck. It was worth it though. The kids had a great time.

I am the coolset Mommy ever

Before we decided to go for some fresh-air therapy.

Seems like the fresh air therapy is working wonders.

I think she looks beautiful...but sick...not so much.

Playing in the leaves makes any cold symptom better.

We even chased "evil kitty" for a bit.

Miss Chloe has been home from school the last two days. She has a sore throat and a cough that makes her sound like a momma seal. She has been running a fever on and off since Saturday, which is the main reason for her absence from school. They advise to keep kids home until they have been fever free for more than 2 hours. She probably could have gone. However, I am not going to be "that Mom" the one who sends her kid to school sick, infecting all the other kids with their icky germs. So...she stayed home.
I will also add, that when I was a kid, staying home meant that you laid on the couch or in bed and that you acted...well...sick. If you were well enough to run around...you were well enough to go to school.
That being said...the beauties have been stir crazy. So have I. A bad case of the "cabin-fevers." Due to the unseasonably warm weather, it has been in the seventies the last two days, we escaped to the yard yesterday...
shhh. Don't tell.

I am in Kindergarten

Sponge rollers...I still remember when my Mommy did this the eve of the first day of school.
Of course we had to carry on the tradition.

Dinosaur shaped peanut butter sammy.

Fruit loops...the breakfast of little champions.

My beautiful Chloe.

Align Center
Chloe's favorite "sassy" pose. She has it mastered.

Kindergarten. It's here. I cannot believe it. I seriously feel like it is too soon. It seems like yesterday she was a tiny baby. My tiny baby. Why does time have to move so fast? You blink and you miss it.
The big day was today. Chloe did so well. She was very excited and only slightly nervous.
She woke at 7:15 and asked..."Is it school time already?" Then she added she was still tired. Mommy's girl there.
She woke up quickly had breakfast and brushed her teeth. She got all dressed up and was ready to go.
Mommy had to sneak in a photo shoot...which she seemed to not really mind.
She looked beautiful!
The day went well. She said her favorite part was lunch and recess.
Daddy's girl there.
She even said tonight she was excited to go back, even though she missed me today.
Mommy only shed "a few" tears this morning after leaving. I couldn't help it. She is my baby!
